I received my AAS degree in photography from M.A.T.C. in 1979. My career started in labs, working on 8x10 enlargers and managing color processing lines. In 1986, I took a job as an Industrial Photographer for Wisconsin Electric Power Co., shooting aerials, people and industrial images throughout Wisconsin.

In 1994, my wife and I started Barger Photography. Most of our early work was shot on location using 4x5 and Hasselblad cameras, but requests for studio photography grew and in 1998 we acquired our studio. We built a 26' wide cove and added a 10x20' overhead light bank to offer full service studio photography. Our location work has taken us from Canada to Texas and from Atlantic City to Los Angeles.
